LeBron James sobs as he delivers Cleveland its first championship in 52 Years! says 'This is what I came back for'

Cleveland's curse has finally been broken.

After 52 years without a professional sports victory, LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 93-89 win over the Golden State Warriors in a dramatic Game 7 triumph on Sunday night.

"I'm home. This is what I came back for," an emotional James, 31, said shortly after the game ended.

As the final buzzer rang out, James dropped to the floor and sobbed. Teammates and head coach Tyronn Lue also cried tears of joy.

"I gave everything I had. I poured my heart, my sweat, my tears into this game," said James, an Ohio native. "Cleveland, this is for you!"

A number of celebrities also offered congratulations via Twitter.

The win also marked the first time a team has come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA finals to declare victory.

James returned to the Cavaliers last season, promising the city that's had many near-misses a championship at long last.

"This is special," he also said after the game.
