kidnappers release abducted pupils, teacher and Vice Principal after receiving N1 million ransom

The four pupils, Abu, Emmanuel Okonkwo, Jeremiah Ruth, Isaac Adebisi, Vice Principal, Junior School, AO Oyesola and English teacher, Lukman Oyerinde, who were abducted last Thursday at the Lagos
State Model College, Igbonla in Epe have been released by the kidnappers around 10:30pm, Tuesday night.
The kidnappers initially demanded N120 million for the release of the abducted people but then reduced it to N3.5m on Sunday.

The release comes after the family of one of the students who reportedly fell ill in the kidnapper's den, paid a N1m ransom yesterday. The family members had earlier in the day gone to drop the money at an undisclosed area as suggested by the kidnappers.

The father of one of the abducted pupils, Mr. Oluwafemi Adebisi, confirmed that his son was back home and in good health.
He said:

“I thank God for everything. My son has been released to us. He is in good health. God is wonderful.”

A police source says no arrest has been made yet.
