A 25-year-old secondary school graduate,Hindatu Umar, who was appointed as the Chairperson of Argungu Local Government Area in Kebbi State by the Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has resumed duty.
She resumed at her office at the Local Government Secretariat on Thursday, after which she paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Argungu HRH Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera at his palace in Argungu.
Her appointment sparked criticisms among Argungu indigenes. Some are saying why would a woman be appointed to lead the Local Government. Others cited her age, educational qualification, and lack of experience. See more photos below
