A scottish mom who photographs her baby in fashion outfits and swimwear has been slammed by social media users for sexualising her young daughter.
Amy McIndewar, from Balloch, posted images of Mya Byrne since she was just a few weeks old last May and has amassed a following of 122,000 people on Instagram.
The images have attracted attention from the likes of reality TV stars Khloe Kardashian and Lauren Goodger, with both 'liking' the poses.
Amy begun photographing Mya in outfits when she was just a few weeks old .But some viewers suggested that shots such as that of the baby in a swimming costume staring up at the camera with her mouth open, are inappropriate.
But Amy defended the images: "I am very proud of her. I love seeing all the comments about her on Instagram.
“I have had a few negative comments from people saying I am sexualising her but I disagree.
“With one negative comment comes hundreds of positives. Some people just don’t get what I am doing.
“It’s not something you do every day, it’s only going to be when she is all right doing it.”
Amy continued to explain that she would continue to take the photos unless Mya asked her not to.
She said: “This raises issues about privacy and boundaries and children having their own right to decide whether or not to be on Instagram.
Amy says that she will continue to take photos unless Mya tells her to stop.
