Prince was found dead in a lift in his Paisley Park home, hours after visiting a pharmacy. Medics desperately tried CPR but were unable to revive the music icon who was pronounced dead at 10.07am.
TMZ reports the 57 year old star was last pictured at around 7pm on Wednesday night visiting a Walgreens pharmacy near his home.
Police were called after his lifeless body was found at his Paisley Park mansion and recording studios in Minnesota at 9.43am.
He was forced to cancel two gigs recently over concerns about his health.
And last Friday the singer was flying home from a show in Atlanta, Georgia when he became ill forcing his private jet to make an emergency landing in Molina, Illinois.
He was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance, where he was treated and released hours later.
TMZ claims doctors advised the singer to stay in hospital but they couldn’t offer him a private room so he and his team left after just three hours.
Multiple sources reportedly told the site that doctors administered a “save shot”, which they say is typically given to counteract the effects of an opiate..Authorities are now believed to be trying to get the hospital records to help determine the cause of death. Photos of his home after the cut
