CCTV footage shows Swiss thief stuffing 18 bottles of champagne moet down his trousers

This is the unbelievable moment a suspected thief managed to conceal 18 bottles of Moet under his clothes before swiftly heading for the exit of a supermarket.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera and showed the man filling his trolley with bottles of alcohol in a Denner store in St Gallen, Switzerland.

He then stands in an area where he believes he cannot be seen before proceeding to place the expensive bottles inside his jacket and down his trousers.

He appears to position them under his waistband and after pausing for a second when becoming distracted by another customer, finishes the job.

With a staggering 18 bottles under his clothes, the man then quickly pushes his trolley towards the door in a bid to exit the supermarket.
The store owner, who admitted to not immediately noticing the theft, realised what had happened when he looked over the shop's security camera later in the day.

He decided to post the footage to Facebook, telling FM1 Today: 'I was angry, disappointed and mad.'

The video was later taken down however after police warned the shopkeeper that the suspect could demand legal action against him for a breach of privacy should he be caught.

Local police spokesman Gian Andrea Rezzoli said: 'The person being filmed would be able to demand that he be prosecuted.'

'We advised the manager to remove the video from Facebook, and he did that a day later.'

In the meantime the storekeeper has filed his own complaint against the suspect and hopes that the man will be caught quickly.
