Tupac Shakur is getting his own restaurant.
Prior to his death in 1996, Shakur came up with an idea for a music-themed eatery called "The Powamekka Cafe." The rapper sketched out a logo
and drafted a menu for the business idea, but he never got the chance to open it.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Shakur's death, a Fresno, California burger joint will bring his "vision to life" for one night.
Take 3 Burgers teamed with Sam Hansen, marketing director of the minor league baseball team, the Fresno Grizzlies, for a Shakur-themed pop-up restaurant opening on Sept. 13.
The menu includes items that Shakur created for "The Powamekka Cafe," along withoriginal dishes like the "California Love" chicken sandwich, the “Mac-and-Cheeseburgers,” Hennessey apple-butter chicken wings, and "Thug Passion Cake Pops."
The restaurant will also feature "a Tupac-themed art show" and local artists performing their favorite songs from Shakur's music catalogue.
Shakur died on Sept. 13, 1996, seven days after being shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. He was 25.
