Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, were arrested without incident in Pueblo County, Colorado, at approximately 12:00 p.m. by officers conducting an unrelated investigation at a local motel.
On Sunday Aug. 14, Humphrey's half-sister Kimberly Harvill was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in Gorman, L.A., and police later issued an arrest warrant for Humphrey and Robertson, who they believed had taken the victim's children, Joslynn, 2, Brayden, 3, and Rylee, 5.
According to police, Robertson has a criminal history, is on Post Release Community Supervision, and has a previous arrest for possession of a firearm. It is not clear how Robertson and Humphrey have plead, or if they have legal representation.
The couple allegedly abducted Harvill's three young children, who were said to be found safe on Wednesday in a motel near Albuquerque,CBS News reports.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Joe Mendoza said at a press conference on Thursday that investigators did not know of any ongoing conflict between the sisters.
