How Shalom Nchom rose from being bullied for her burn scars to being celebrated as a beauty Vlogger

20-year-old makeup artist Shalom Nchom (aka YouTube makeup star Shalom Blac) from Nigeria who now lives in Maryland,  shares her emotional story of how she came out from being badly burnt with oil to being a beauty vlogger.

According to Shalom, when she was 9 years old, she was in her mum’s grocery store where she also sold fried food during the evenings when she got tired on thet fateful day and wanted to go and sleep.

Her mom asked her to sleep in the room inside but when she got there, she was scared by a cat so decided to sleep elsewhere on a table where her younger sister was also placed next to her later on.

While the two sisters were sleeping, burning hot oil fell on them which jolted them up from their sleep.

After being rushed to the hospital and they were told that there were no doctors on duty, Shalom fainted.

According to Glamour Magazine, Shalom said of the aftermath of the burns:

“People began to stare at me, or look at me in a nasty way. One of my neighbors, we used to play together, came in my house and when he saw me ran away crying.”

After all the trauma from the burns she sustained, an aunty assisted the family in moving to the United States of America where she had numerous operations.

Things were no different there as she was also bullied and considered suicide but thanks to the discovery of make up, she is now a beauty vlogger.

Something good eventually came out from the burns she and her sister sustained while they were kids.
